On February 8th I emailed this to all affiliates. I think it is worth posting here.

Yesterday, one of the presenters in this summit took some time to send a letter to their list about the summit. This letter is not in the affiliate area. She actually took the time to listen to the speaker that day and was so impressed by what she heard was compelled to email her list.

I have not asked her for permission to post the entire email. I’m sure she would be fine with that, but just an excerpt will make the point.

From her email:

“As I write this I’m listening to a fascinating interview with Connie Bennett, author of the bestselling book, Sugar Shock! She is sharing some really empowering information about the benefits of giving up sugar. If you’ve been struggling with a sweet tooth or trying to convince a loved one to give up sugar, you must listen to this interview. Sorry for the late notice. It’s available until 9AM Sunday morning. If you miss it, consider ordering the recordings.”

She went on to share some of Connie’s points and talked about other great speakers coming up. soon and how to hear the rest of the speakers.

Did I mention that this presenter doubled the number of leads she had after she sent this letter to her client list? Yes. Doubled the number of leads, and she did all the other emails requested. 10 days, 5 days, launch day. Yep, did them all. None of them made her list respond like a real, from the heart letter.

I’ve tried to provide you with lots of tools to generate leads for you. I try to make it quick and easy, no fuss no muss so you don’t need to spend much time at promotion in order to make a few bucks. Many of them work pretty good. But I cannot write from your heart.

Maybe it would be better if we just slowed down, took our time, and spoke to our client list from our heart in our own voice. Rather than the promo voice that you will find in the affiliate area.

Today, Tom Nicoli is speaking. Did you know that Tom is giving away one of his new products that will help anybody who is using any diet program? It’s called “Make My Diet Work”.

This is not one of those “if you buy this, you get this free” deals. It’s free, no strings attached. Just log in and download it.

I am not going to post anything in the affiliate are about this. I think it is pretty eveident that if you want to do what the speaker above did, you must take a few minutes and do it yourself. Listen to Tom and tell your list what you really think. I know Tom and I will with all our lists. Is it worth 20 minutes (yes you can fast forward through some parts) to write a letter and tell your list what you really think? If you cannot do it today, how about tomorrow or the next day?

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I know I rambled on longer than ususal, but I really feel this is important.
Keith

A quick rundown of our top ten (lead generating) affiliates recently showed these results.

We paid on average $2.48 in commissions for each lead generated.

4.6% of the leads generated were converted to sales.

With our original landing page, these affiliates had a 33% click to lead ratio. The top affiliate had a 42% click to lead ratio.
Important note: Since these stats, we have run several A/B test and our current landing page is has a click to lead ratio of 47%.

Commissions per click on the above affiliates was about 63¢ per click, but with the higher click to lead conversion ratio, we expect a much higher rate on the Weight Loss Summit.

There is one important thing to remember when sending an email to send to your list. You are not pitching a program or product to purchase. All you are doing is letting your list know about a great free service. The emails we have crafted for you in the affiliate area reflect these facts.

The summit is totally free.

You can listen online, no phone in necessary.

Each presenter is available to listen to for a full 24 hours.

If you have any questions about the above stats, please use the contact form on the web site and I will gladly address your questions.

Thanks,

Just about everyone knows that January 1st is the traditional start of the “Weight Loss Resolution” season. If you watch TV on New Year’s eve, one of the first ads you will see after midnight will be for some weight loss product. Everyone is targeting that person who resolved that this was the year they were going to lose some weight.

With that, you may be asking why we are not launching our 2011 Weight Loss Summit on the first of January?

We decided not to be part of the frenzy…

Those first few weeks of January are nuts. Everyone is vying for the traffic and it seems that people looking are doing just that; looking. After almost ten years selling weight loss products, Tom and I have found that our sales actually increase after the first two weeks in January.

The competition slows down and people are now settling in to the new year. But, more importantly, the people who are serious about weight loss are still in the market. The “tire kickers” that thought it was a good idea on January 1 to start a diet are back at McDonalds.

Starting the end of January, right through March is the prime weight loss season.

Thanks,
Keith & Tom

Hi Everyone,

The simple answer is we have not yet filled all the presenter spots. Until we do, we don’t want to make it firm. Tom and I have found out it’s better to have a completed schedule rather than committing to a firm start date.

Don’t Worry…

You will be given plenty of time to promote the summit prior to the start date. We have found that you really only need to start mentioning it to prospects two weeks ahead. We’ll give you enough notice s you can plan your email campaign.

Thanks,
Keith

There has been some discussion lately about the content of promotional emails for the summit. Many people with lists will put a section in their weekly email about the summit. Some will send a long email explaining the summit. Others will send just a short “note” promoting the summit.

We’ve tested them all and here is what we found.

When we send the long email to our customer list we typically get 1-2% of them to sign up for the summit.

But, when we send a short, 2-3 sentence email saying this is cool, check it out it’s free we get a 5-6% sign up rate.

The point is a short, independent email to your client or prospect list will do 400-500% better than long emails or burying the information in your newsletter.

Isn’t the point to get people to sign up? We’ve tested them all and have real results.

Bottom Line: Send a short, concise email about the summit to your list. Don’t over explain, don’t bury it in your newsletter. Get the results you deserve.

Thanks,
Keith

PS: There are several of these short emails in the affiliate area.

This is something presenters and all affiliates can do really quickly to get the word out about the Premier Summits.

Twitter makes it really easy to send out a quick message. Not to mention that each “tweet” (message) is actually its own webpage. It’s there forever.

Our Affiliate Concierge has written a whole bunch of tweets for you so that you can promote the summit.

So…here’s what you do!

Instructions:

Step 1: Get link

If you have not already done so, get your affiliate link. Sign-in to the affiliate info center to grab your link:
http://www.premiersummits.com/affiliates

Step 2: Shrink link & insert into tweets

* Shrink Your Affiliate Link: Use TinyURL.com or bit.ly to shrink your affiliate link and insert in when you see

Step 3: Set up your own tweet-a-thon

To get the best possible momentum from this campaign, set up tweets to run throughout the day and night. You can get a free SocialOomph account at http://SocialOomph.com and set up tweets to run at intervals. My best recommendation to you is to cycle through these tweets. You can revise them too, realizing that I have used certain hypnosis related phrases that are designed to get you the most possible traffic.

Special Notes:

I tested these Tweets to fit into 140 characters when using TinyURL to shrink your link. I’ve also left room to retweet.

Be sure to use the tweets as written. They are keyword optimized to get you the best possible results.

There is something else after the link because this improves Twitter conversion.

Timing: Send every hour or 2 at odd times (11:03, 12:07, 1:23 etc).

Cycle through the list of tweets before repeating so you don’t look “spammy.”

Here come the tweets!

These are just a few samples.

Pre-launch – use these tweets now through the seminar

Hello presenters and affiliates!

We’re well into the first week of promotion.

You’ll notice there are several emails, as well as other tools. And it’s time to send your first mailing if you haven’t already done so.

There are a bunch of new tools in the affiliate resource center as well. You’ll notice tweets and ads that are, as the old newspaper saying goes, “hot off the presses” for YOU to make it really easy to promote.

If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to contact me.

Thanks,
Keith J

We’ve had several affiliates ask why we pay only 35% commission on an MP3 download product.

This is a fair question. The reason is the massive bandwidth costs associated with online summits such as this one. We give away to each person who signs up for the free summit a free, 1 hour download per day. We contract with an outside service to sream all this content. It’s not uncommon for us to spend 15-20% of sales to provide for the bandwidth.

If we at some point move to a different model where we do not offer the free download, but just sell the summit, we at that point could readjust the commission schedule.

The point here is you are offering something free to your customers that has great value. This increases signups substantially, so in theory, what you lose in persentage of sales is made up in volume.
